Monica Mordaunt (@mordauntmovement) co-founder of The Movement Study. She is a California native, movement lover, plant whisperer, and cat mom. Finding her way to NYC over 10 years ago as a trained modern dancer and yogi, she was drawn to the vibrant movement community and earned certifications in Pilates mat and equipment through Kane School of Core Integration. Became a Senior Instructor and Teacher Trainer at Kinected and pursued further mentorship at The Neuro Studio becoming a level 3 Neuro practitioner.

Monica is an avid learner and endlessly curious about how movement connects us to ourselves and our environment. She combines her array of trainings and experience to provide individualized client sessions to all ages and abilities. She’s known to have a soft healing touch and calm energy to support each clients’ changing needs.

She’s thrilled to run The Movement Study alongside Stephanie Bittner.

When she’s not teaching, Monica currently spends time:

  • Working on her green thumb growing an outdoor and indoor Brooklyn garden

  • Being a cat parent to Rhea with her fiancé (She’s also planning a wedding!)

  • Traveling and exploring the outdoors

“As a dancer quite far along on the hypermobility spectrum with more odd injuries than I can list, Monica's keen eye and acute awareness of the body has (this is no exaggeration) completely changed my life. I have worked with her for over 7 years and the exercises she has given me have helped me to move without pain, work past my injuries, and finally grow my strength again. She has given me my agency back in my body and after years with her, I am still amazed every session at how much she teaches me in so little time. ”
