Rachel Feinerman
Pilates Instructor, Hypermobility Specialty
Rachel came to Pilates with more than 20 years of dance teaching and performance in New York. Anatomy has always been a driving force in her teaching from initial study at Barnard College through certification in Simonson technique, an injury-preventative and scaffolded dance teaching methodology, through performance work based in qi-gong and yoga techniques and, finally, certification at the Kane School. Consistent and persistent curiosity about the body has led her to teaching Pilates through the lens of injury rehabilitation, pain management, and stress management. Rachel often works with adults along the hypermobility spectrum, and dancers, athletes and absolute beginning movers. Whether integrating techniques as varied as qi-gong, neurological-driven exercises, or scar therapy, Rachel always tries to bring a body to a calm, efficient, and pain-free state for luscious movement. Each individual body can feel like an endless puzzle. The good news is, I love puzzles.
